About
Why this place exists.
Some people reach a point where the standard answers stop working.
Where the parenting books feel hollow. Where the self-help advice sounds like it was written for someone else. Where something deeper is clearly needed – but the "deeper" options available seem to require leaving your critical thinking at the door.
Unlearn Academy was built for that moment. And for every person who arrives at it.
This isn't a platform for everyone. It's for the person who has already tried the easy version and found it wanting. Who reads carefully, questions openly, and understands that real change is slower and stranger than any five-step framework.
Our courses sit at the intersection of psychology, lived experience, and genuine human depth. They're made for parents who want to raise emotionally free children. For people who are done with surface-level growth. For anyone who has ever felt the gap between what they know and who they actually are – and decided to take that gap seriously.
Rooted in evidence. Honest about complexity. Built with care.
Why we say Unlearner
You're not a student here. You're an Unlearner.
Most platforms call you a student. We don't. The word student assumes there's something to add – more facts, more frameworks, more credentials stacked on top of who you already are.
But the people who arrive here are usually carrying the opposite problem. Too much advice. Too many shoulds. Too many beliefs absorbed long ago – about parenting, about healing, about success, about love – that quietly stopped fitting and never got examined.
Real growth, for the people who come here, isn't about learning more. It's about unlearning what no longer serves.
Unlearning a story you were told about yourself. Unlearning a parenting reflex inherited from three generations back. Unlearning the idea that the expert always knows better than the parent who is actually in the room.
That's brave work – and it deserves a name. So everyone who studies here is an Unlearner. On certificates. In emails. In community. Always with a capital U, because it's not a role you play – it's a stance you take.
Welcome. You're in good company.
What this place stands for
Four quiet commitments.
Rooted in evidence.
Psychology, neuroscience, lived clinical experience. No manifesting, no magical thinking, no shortcuts dressed as wisdom.
Honest about complexity.
Real change is slower and stranger than any five-step framework. We won't pretend otherwise to sell a course.
No gurus. No followings.
Creators here teach a craft, not a personality. The work matters more than the face in front of the camera.
Built with care.
Slower catalogue, higher floor. Every course we publish is one we'd want a friend to take.
Where it started
Before this, there was a child who needed stillness.
Unlearn Academy didn't start with a business plan. It started with Barnmeditation – a guided meditation app for children between 3 and 12, built on the belief that children deserve tools for their inner world just as much as their outer one.
The app became the seed. The conviction that children's inner lives matter – and that parents are their most powerful guide – became the root of everything that followed.
Everything here grows from that same place.

Läs på SubstackWho started this
Unlearn Academy was started by Aida Reva – but it was never meant to be about her. It was built so other careful, honest teachers could find a home for the kind of work that doesn't fit anywhere else. The platform belongs to the Unlearners and the creators who teach them.
For the curious ones. You know who you are.
